The Friends of Hocking River (FOHR) was formed in January 1999 by a group of individuals who were concerned about the future of the river in Hocking County, Ohio. The group meets monthly and works on projects during the year. Some of our projects include annual river cleanups and submitting a grant to put in a boat access point in Logan.
Our mission is to preserve the environmental integrity, educate the general public, and promote wise use of the Hocking River and its watershed. Some of our ideas to accomplish this are to establish riparian corridors, engage local students in stream monitoring, and publish pamphlets on smart stream use.
We welcome all interested people to join us at our monthly meetings.
