R.    Holt requested articles from members for a new issue.  Holt to report on the Sept. ride on the Athens trail; the bridge to be covered by J. Vandervoort;  Amanda to be covered by J. Barrett;  Olivedale to be covered by B. Williams; and Health to covered by I. Weiss.

Send press release to Eagle Gazette about the progress on the city trail - bridge to be moved in late October.

Grants:

We received a community development block grant for $7,000.00 on June 2005.  So far we have received more that $1,000,000 in grant funding for the first 3 phases of the trail.

Old Business:

Lancaster Trail - The bridge move date is tentatively set for Oct. 21st with one week later for “rain date”.

Engineering for phase 2 is close to being complete.  The trail is to go under the Main St. bridge which is scheduled to be replaced and will include the path in the construction.  The neighbor on the southeast corner of the bridge is being very co- operative concerning trail development.

We may need to cross Cherry St. on down from the Lanreco Park. There is some discussion as to the hospital acquiring Dr. Monger’s land for parking which is behind a number of the houses on Cherry.  This is accessible from an abandoned alley which would get the trail from Cherry to the parking lot and could use the hospital’s bridge to cross the creek.  This is speculation at this time.

Amanda Trail - Jennifer Johns has sent needed info to her attorney for approval to use Midwest Fabricating portion of the old rail bed for the path.

We still need someone to take on moving the Amanda trail development.  Claude Ford is to be contacted for potential contact person.  Someone with grant writing experience would be ideal.

Columbus Interurban - Jim Cox is now the property owner.  A meeting needs to be set up with him and continue discussions about acquiring this.

Bridge - Move is scheduled for Oct. 21 and we will try to co-ordinate a cleanup for Mr. Walter’s yard once this has happened.  Everyone seemed very willing to chip in.

MORPC - Ira to summarize for next meeting

Group Rides- 6 riders made the trip to Athens and back on Sept. 4th.  Weather was perfect and the trip was a great success. Pictures to be posted on web site.

Olivedale - Larry to talk to Dave Bogear about this.  He will try to get the section paved between Cenci Lake and the Fox Trail.  He will check with Bogear about any potential grant available. We will try to get Terre Vandervoort to also help with this.

Web site - Ira has been able to access our site and do lots of updates

New Business:

Central Ohio Greenway conference -  B. Williams moved to spend up to $30.00 each for 2 people to attend this.  Motion was approved.

Pay as you grow”- Talk to city engineer about old signage for bike use and update. Also get with new city engineer, etc. to include in new development required green space for trails. See MORPC plan for “complete streets” for more info.  Also use Fairfield Co. Regional Planning to adopt this as their guideline.

Amanda trail-see above Amanda info.

Interview - we need to get MP-3 format of interview and attach to web site.  Peg Mahler to contact Jack Greathouse to do a segment of show on the trail.

FMC - Rick to contact  Bill Bickham, head of PR and Howard Snider to get them updated on health benefits to be combined with hospital PR.

Other - Send article to EG about bridge move; also letter to the editor with bikeability checklist included if the EG won’t do an article including it.

Next meeting - Nov. 21st at Olivedale at 7:00pm.

Motion to adjourn - D. Scheffler; second by L. Smith at 8:45pm
