Fairfield Heritage Trail Association
Meeting Minutes - December 10, 2003
Vice President Jim Barrett called the meeting to order at around 7:10 PM. In attendance were Donald Claffey, Rick Holt, Peg Mahler, Dave Scheffler, and Bob Williams.
There were no minutes of the October pizza fest at Donatos West.
Treasurer's Report - Same as last report. No changes.
Grants Received - Nothing discussed. (Phase II grant was discussed/celebrated at the November meeting.) See Amanda Trail below.
PR Report - The Newsletter is almost ready. Final edits are being made. Rick will e-mail an updated copy to Bob Williams, sans the photos, to reduce size of file. Bob to re-add the photos and place on FHTA website. Rick Holt will check with Kinkos on cost of printing a ‘color’ 4-page edition. The treasury could afford a small investment here to improve our exposure in the community.
Old Business

At this time, 1.1 mile of trail is paved and complete. (YEAH!) The covered bridge probably won’t move till spring. (Boo)

Discussion concerning the need for a person, preferably with significant Amanda connections, experienced with grant writing, to develop a grant application to go after funds for this trail. This is very important in 2004. Agreed to actively seek applicant. (Candidate identified and interview process begun at Billy Crickets later in the evening.)
Covered Bridge
