Meeting Minutes - May 14, 2003
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 by Vice President Jeff Vandervoort. In attendance were Jim Barrett, Donald Claffey, Randy Devol, Anna Ford, Claude Ford, Rick Holt, Dave Scheffler, Larry Smith, and Ira Weiss.
Minutes of the March meeting were moved by Dave Scheffler, seconded by Jim Barrett and approved.
Treasurer's Report - None given.
Grants Received - There is nothing new to report.
PR Report - None given.
Old Business
Amanda Trail section
The old Lynch farmhouse is gone, we need to stay in touch with him. Claude will get a hold of Coach Hinton. The majority of people between Amanda and 159 have been contacted.
Lancaster Trail section
The groundbreaking will take place on June 5th at 9:00 a.m.. Jeff will call Dean Bari Watkins to ask her permission and Dave Bogear to see if he wants his name on the invitation. We will need 8-10 shovels and will check with the chamber of commerce and mayor's office. The potential honorary diggers are: Bill Daehler, Dave Bogear, Mayor, Columbus Foundation, Fairfield Foundation, Fairfield Medical Center, FHTA, Tim Schaffer and Jay Hottinger. The first phase is to be completed by August 24th. We should know by the end of the month whether the Fairfield Foundation will fund the covered bridge project.
Jackie Heath (Assistant Superintendent for Operations) and Jim Barrett saw Berry and Miller. They were interested in participating with the trail and were keen on a tax deduction. Berry and Miller is expecting a call from Jeff Vandervoort.
Jeff has been in contact with the Sparrows. She is in the midst of selling the property.
New Business
There is no report on Bob Stebelton. Jeff is going to a brownfields meeting as we will get the trail through the site when it is cleaned up. Jeff attended a GIS system meeting with Barbara Curtis and Bob Williams will be involved. We have an application into Clean Ohio and received phone calls asking for additional information and maps. We are providing additional information for Phase Three funding including connectivity, brownfields, and creeks crossed.
Rick Holt asked about the interurban. Dave Scheffler will get back to him.
Rick Holt moved adjournment, seconded by Dave Scheffler. The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m..
Next meeting will be June 11, preceded by the Lancaster Trail Groundbreaking June 5th, 9:00 a.m..
