Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the June 12, 2002 meeting were moved by Bob Williams, seconded by Claude Ford and approved.
Treasurer's Report
Dave Scheffler gave the report. There is $2,500 in the treasury. This includes $611 from Weldons Ice Cream. The sale of five memberships and six t-shirts can be attributed to the newsletter.
Newsletter
The newsletter was sent. Photos will be e-mailed to Rhonda Border-Boose about GOBA. Suggested articles for the next newsletter include: economic impact of trails, GOBA, city trail, Olivedale Senior Recycling Group, Health Benefits of Trails. Bob Williams suggested to get the FHTA on the Volunteer List of the Eagle Gazette.
Old Business
Amanda Section
Coach Hinton will work with the Davis family. Everyone is in favor. Claude Ford will ask the Village of Amanda if he can install a kiosk, which Claude will make himself and will contact Jeff Tilley for funds for materials. The kiosk could be surrounded with flowers.
Lancaster City Trail
Ira Weiss reported on the executive committee meeting held earlier that day at Jeff Vandervoort's office. Topics discussed included landowner issues, disposition of the covered bridge, routing, meetings at OU-L - Terre Vandervoort and Dave Scheffler, follow up with Connie Gerken - Ira Weiss, Fundraising for Phases I and II and Corporate (Fairfield Medical Center - Jim Barrett and Dave Scheffler to solicit, Kroger - Jeff Vandervoort to solicit, Fox Foundation, Parks). It was suggested that the schools could apply for funding from the Fairfield Foundation to move the covered bridge. Following the review of the earlier meeting, Bob Williams said the covered bridge was in limbo. If the person who wants the bridge can be convinced out of it we can have it. Bob will call Jim Walters about it. Bob Williams also said he could get free bike racks from Historical Parks and suggested we ask Target for funds.
Capital Campaign Committee
The committee is currently on hold as grants are being pursued instead.
GOBA (Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure)
It was noted that Rick Holt did exemplary duty. At the Fairgrounds we received $611 from Weldons Ice Cream, and sold five memberships and six t-shirts. At Amanda we took in $3,152 and expended $1,163 for $1,989 divided by two (split with Amanda UMC) for a net of $994.52. We received a $20 contribution from David Betz, Amanda Spring Water. Ira Weiss is to write several thank you notes. Next year's GOBA will be in Southwest Ohio.
Presentations

Bob Williams gave presentations from Rhonda Border-Boose to Dave Scheffler to incorporate with economic impact studies of rail trails. We decided not to participate at Festival Fair Day. We may want to do presentations at upcoming bicycle races.
