The Fairfield Heritage Trail Association is announcing its sixth and seventh rides of the season.   These promise to be the best two yet!


 

Ride #6   Sunday  October 1, 2006
The Ohio-Erie Trail:  London, OH to "As far as you care to go" and get BACK by 3:00PM!

Following the ride there will be a "FHTA Potluck Dinner" at Claude & Anna's house in Amanda, OH.   Details coming in a future e-mail.

Start Time:  
10:00 AM   Several small towns along the way to stop for snacks

Ride #7   NOTE DATE CHANGED TO Sunday October 29, 2006 AND TIME TO 9:45 AM!
 The Kokosing Gap Trail    Mt. Vernon, OH

Following the ride the group will gather at a local eatery to refuel and reflect on our experiences this summer.

Start Time:  
9:45 AM   (People should arrive by 9:30 so they can prep, sign release & leave on time)
 
Location:  
Mt. Vernon, OH - trailhead parking lot.
Directions:
Take Route 37 into Granville, OH and then go north on Rt 661 toward Mount Vernon.  Just south of Mt. Vernon, there's a business jog and it runs into Rt 13.  Turn left onto Rt 13 and go into town.  Turn right onto Mount Vernon Avenue, which takes you to the trailhead parking lot.

Comment:
The trail passes through several towns with great places to eat, so the group will have choices about where and when to stop for food.  There's plenty of trail and scenery to make a whole day of it, assuming the weather cooperates, so plan accordingly.   Bring family and friends and enjoy Ohio cycling at it's finest.

 

Everyone is strongly encouraged to wear a helmet.


Everyone must sign a release form that will be available at the start of the ride.
